Vote For Your RTE Sport Team Of The Year
The Grand Slam-winning Ireland Women’s team and the Leinster side who won the RaboDirect PRO12 and Amlin Challenge Cup in 2013 are both in the running for the RTE Sport Team of the Year award. You can vote for them by text tonight.
This year’s RTÉ Sports Awards ceremony, which will be shown live on RTÉ One and RTÉ.ie from 9.45pm tonight (Saturday), will see the outstanding Person, Manager and Team of the Year recognised for their achievements.
2013 has seen fantastic sporting achievements by Irish teams – including both the Ireland Women’s team and Leinster – and the RTÉ Sports Awards will be acknowledging the achievements of our sporting heroes.
A featured award is the 2013 Team of The Year, and the responsibility for choosing the team of the year rests with you.
Nine teams have been shortlisted by an RTÉ panel for their sporting performance and achievements in 2013, the team with the most public votes will be named the 2013 RTÉ Sport Team of the Year.
You can vote by text for your chosen team(s). The team to receive the most text votes will be crowned RTÉ Sport Team of the Year.
The nine nominees for Team of the Year include the four All-Ireland winners from their respective codes in Gaelic Games: the Clare hurlers, Dublin footballers, the Cork Ladies Football team and the Galway camogie team.
The Ireland Men’s Boxing team have been nominated for their exploits at both the World and European Championships.
The Grand Slam-winning Ireland Women’s rugby team and Leinster, who won both the RaboDirect PRO12 and Amlin Challenge Cup, the Paralympic Swimming team, which brought home a best ever total of eight medals from the World Championships and Airtricity League winners St. Patrick’s Athletic have also been nominated.
Voting lines will open at 9.45pm tonight during the RTÉ Sports Awards on RTÉ One. The numbers you will need to vote for your chosen team will revealed during the programme and voting lines will close at 11.30pm.
Please do not vote outside of the advertised vote window as you will be charged for your vote, but your vote will not count.

RTÉ’s decision in relation to the determination of the overall winner and the validity of the tele-vote system is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
In the unlikely event of a tied result for Team of The Year, the winner will be chosen by the Group Head of RTÉ Sport.
