Ryan Ruled Out For Ten Weeks

Donnacha Ryan, who was ever-present in Ireland’s second row during the 2013 Six Nations, will sit out next month’s GUINNESS Series with a knee injury.

Following on from Munster’s Heineken Cup win over Gloucester last Saturday, Donnacha Ryan and Denis Hurley have been ruled out for the immediate future after both sustaining knee injuries.

Ryan strained ligaments in his left knee and will be out of consideration for approximately ten weeks after seeing a specialist.

That means the 29-year-old will be sidelined for Ireland’s upcoming November Tests against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand, and he will be out of Munster’s plans until late December-early January.

Meanwhile, full-back/winger Hurley, who suffered medial ligament damage in his knee, has been ruled out for approximately five weeks.
