Ulster Launch ‘Design A Mascot’ Competition

Ulster players Roger Wilson, Luke Marshall and Paddy Wallace joined last year’s winner of the Centra Ulster Rugby Summer Camp ‘Design a Mascot’ competition – Adam Whiteside (10) from Sullivan Upper Prep School – and Jenni Barkley from Centra to launch the 2013 competition.

The province-wide Ulster Rugby Summer Camps, sponsored by retailer Centra, are for boys and girls aged 6-12 years and will run between July 1 and August 23.

Each camp is five days’ long and registration for the week costs £50 to include a T-shirt, a boot bag, a rugby ball and a voucher to claim a free ticket to an Ulster game at Ravenhill.

There are also two camps specifically for girls aged 12-17 in Belfast and Armagh, and a camp for children with special needs in South Belfast, which both cost £30.

The ever popular senior camp for 13-17-year-olds with previous rugby experience is to take place at University of Ulster, Jordanstown and costs £80.

Camp application forms are being distributed to schools and rugby clubs across Ulster and are also available from local Centra stores.

Details of this year’s Ulster Rugby Summer Camps, including venues and online booking, are available by clicking here.

The ‘Design a Mascot’ competition is open to school children across Northern Ireland and the lucky winner will receive a free place at the Summer Camp of their choice.

Entry forms will be delivered to primary schools over the coming weeks but are also available to download by clicking here. The competition closes on Friday, June 21 and the winner will be announced by June 28.
