Connacht On The Move For Roadshow

Connacht On The Move For Roadshow

Connacht Rugby are on the road. In the coming weeks, some of the province’s officials, coaches and players will be travelling to a number of venues to share and discuss with fans their plans and vision for the 2012/13 season and beyond.

In the past year Connacht Rugby has undergone a very exciting period both on and off the pitch. The recently established Professional Game Board (PGB) has worked closely with the team at Connacht Rugby to make improvements to all areas of the province including facilities, marketing and squad development.

In this period there have been a number of new appointments including a CEO, head of marketing, media executive and new signings to the playing squad and Academy.

These changes provide Connacht with the framework to build on all the work done to date and help establish the province as one of the leading lights in European rugby.

Now Connacht are looking to take it one step further. After a period of planning and strategic thinking, they are taking to the road in an effort to communicate directly with their loyal supporters.

This new venture is a unique opportunity to introduce fans to the plans for the future of Connacht Rugby.

Connacht Rugby CEO Tom Sears said: “We are very excited about launching this unique initiative. This is the first time Connacht Rugby have been on the road and we’re looking forward to meeting our supporters throughout the province.”

The Connacht Rugby Roadshow events will be attended by CEO Tom Sears, members of the Professional Game Board, director of rugby Eric Elwood, head of marketing Alex Saul and Connacht squad members.

First up, Connacht are travelling to Sligo on Thursday, November 8. The Roadshow will then visit Castlebar in County Mayo before stopping off in Ballinasloe and then on to Galway city.

The events are open to rugby clubs, schools and businesses throughout the province – players, members, volunteers, friends and all stakeholders around the region.
