Connacht Link Up With All Core Sports Gym

Connacht Rugby have announced their association with All Core Sports Gym, Ballinasloe, for the 2011/12 season.

Located on Sarsfield Road, Ballinasloe, this highly equipped and modern gym will be used to cater for Connacht’s Sub-Academy players, aged Under-16 to Under-19.

Proprietor of the All Core Sports Gym, Michael Horan, who is not short of experience working in strength and conditioning, is thrilled to continue his association with Connacht Rugby and is delighted to ‘offer the Academy excellent facilities here in Ballinasloe, east Galway.’

This facility will cater for both the amateur and professional athletes. Jacob Walshe, a member of Ballinasloe RFC, is one such athlete, who in recent months earned his first cap with the Irish Youths.

The neighbouring rugby clubs of Portumna and Loughrea will also benefit from this excellent facility.

Antoine Mobian, Academy fitness coach with Connacht Rugby, highly recommends this gym for its contribution to team sports.

“It’s perfect for functional movement training, agility and speed work and the big stretching area is great for foam rolling,” he said.

The ACS indoor sprint track and gym allows flexibility, strength development and technique to be developed any time of the year, in any weather conditions under one roof.

Speaking about the facility, Connacht’s Ireland-capped back rower Johnny O’Connor commented: “It’s a fantastic gym which suits any type of training whether it’s for team sports, young athletes like the Connacht Sub-Academy, amateur athletes or people who just want to get fit or to lose weight.

“Michael is an experienced coach who will help you reach your goals.”
