Internationals Return For Leinster Ahead Of Edinburgh Trip

The Leinster squad trained in wet conditions in UCD on Monday afternoon ahead of their trip to Murrayfield to face Edinburgh in the RaboDirect PRO12 on Friday (kick-off 7.30pm).

A number of the returning Ireland internationals are set to be included in the Leinster matchday panel for the first time this season.

The Leinster management can call upon the likes of Isaac Boss, Sean Cronin, Leo Cullen, Shane Jennings, Fergus McFadden, Eoin Reddan and Jonathan Sexton for the trip to the Scottish capital.

Isa Nacewa’s 14-point haul in the recent 30-20 win over Connacht brought his season’s tally to 70 points in six games and it also took him to 301 career points for the province in 81 appearances.

Ireland lock Devin Toner scored his first try in Leinster colours against the westerners, with Luke Fitzgerald touching down for the second successive league game.

Toner’s second row colleague Steven Sykes also featured in that victory. He continued his rehabilitation from the knee injury which had ruled him out of the opening weeks of the season with another productive workout in the Leinster ‘A’ team’s 46-19 triumph over Ulster Ravens last Friday night.

Dominic Ryan, who captained Leinster ‘A’, also benefited with an hour’s action in that game after his recent ankle injury.

It is anticipated that the majority of Leinster’s 14 World Cup representatives should return to action either this week or ahead of the Munster derby at the Aviva Stadium on Friday week.

The province’s medical team is happy to report that there have been no fresh injury concerns for those involved in the games in New Zealand.

Ticket sales for the Munster clash are approaching the 38,200 mark. They are available to buy from www.leinsterrugby.ie, Spar (Donnybrook) and the Leinster Rugby Store (Donnybrook) as well as Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
