No Fresh Injury Concerns For Leinster

The Leinster squad trained in UCD on Monday ahead of of their RaboDirect PRO12 derby match against Connacht at the RDS on Saturday evening.

The Leinster medical team reported no fresh injury concerns following last weekend’s bonus point victory over Aironi, which included four second half tries.

The management are hopeful that Andrew Conway, Kevin McLaughlin and Dominic Ryan, who have all been receiving treatment for ankle injuries, will be available for selection.

The three players will be given every opportunity to prove their fitness ahead of the team announcement on Friday afternoon.

Second row Steven Sykes successfully came through his competitive debut for the province last Saturday and suffered no ill-effects to the knee injury which had sidelined him for the previous five weeks.

Ian Madigan touched down for his third try in five league games this season, while Isa Nacewa’s 11-point haul pushes him past the half century mark with a total of 56 points in the opening five rounds.

Meanwhile, hooker Tom Sexton resumed contact training late last week following surgery to a cruciate ligament in the summer. It is hoped that he will return to action in the coming weeks.

Saturday’s derby clash will be Leinster’s final game for a month and will incorporate the annual ‘Kids Takeover’ theme with our younger supporters set to take over some of the matchday activities around the ground.
