Leinster Get Ready For Aironi Encounter

The Leinster squad completed their first on-field training session of the week in UCD as they gear up for next Saturday’s RaboDirect PRO12 visit of Aironi Rugby to the RDS (kick-off 6pm).

Following last Saturday’s 15-10 victory over the Scarlets in Llanelli, the Leinster management report no major fresh injury concerns aside from the usual bumps and bruises.

Luke Fitzgerald sustained a minor cut to the back of his head, but the Ireland international will be available for selection this week.

Prop Nathan White (tight calf) was withdrawn as a precaution at half-time at Parc y Scarlets, but is also expected to be available for selection.

Andrew Conway (ankle) and Steven Sykes (knee) have stepped up their respective rehabilitation programmes in recent weeks and it is hoped that if both, or indeed either player, misses this week’ss game they could be available for the visit of Connacht to the RDS the following week.

They will be monitored by the Leinster medical team this week and a decision on their availability will be made for the team announcement on Friday afternoon.

Kevin McLaughlin and Dominic Ryan are both likely to miss Saturday’s clash with Aironi as they recover from the ankle injuries sustained against Glasgow Warriors.

The prognosis on Ryan’s injury is more positive and he has not been ruled out of the Connacht game, but McLaughlin’s injury may rule him out for a longer period.

Over 14,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday’s Leinster v Aironi game which will include the usual ‘Family Day’ activities.

Tickets are still available online here and can be purchased from Spar (Donnybrook), the Leinster Rugby Store and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
