O’Donoghue Closing In On Leinster Return

The Leinster squad to face Edinburgh in Saturday’s Magners League clash at the RDS (kick-off 6.05pm) could be boosted by the return of lock Ed O’Donoghue.

Ed O’Donoghue, the Ireland-capped forward, has stepped up his rehabilitation from injury this week. He has not played for Leinster since damaging his knee last month.

With a number of the Ireland contingent away in international camp this week, there will be a blend of youth and experience in the province’s matchday squad for the visit of Edinburgh.

The Leinster management will have, at their disposal, the experience of Leo Cullen, Nathan Hines, Shane Jennings and Isa Nacewa allied to young guns like Eoin O’Malley and Dominic Ryan, a try scorer in the 18-6 victory over Connacht at the Sportsground last Saturday.

With no fresh injuries to report, ticket sales for Saturday’s game are already approaching the 15,500 mark. The Leinster team and replacements will be announced on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, there will be a specially-themed ‘Halloween Thriller’ in store for supporters, both young and old, at the RDS this Saturday evening with a fancy dress competition, ‘House of Horrors’, trick or treating and fun and games for all the family.

Tickets are on sale here, and are also available from Spar (Donnybrook) and the Leinster Rugby Store (Donnybrook) as well as Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
