Ulster Line Up Pre-Season Opposition

Ulster have lined up three pre-season matches with teams from the newly renamed Aviva Premiership in England. They will renew last season’s rivalry with Bath and head to the Stoop to take on Harlequins before rounding off their pre-season campaign with a home tie against Leeds Carnegie.

First up for Ulster is a home tie against Bath at Ravenhill on Friday, August 13 with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Ulster defeated Bath, who placed fourth in last season’s Premiership, twice last season in the Heineken Cup, 26-12 at Ravenhill in round 1 and 28-10 at the Recreation Ground in round 6.

Next month’s ‘friendly’ will take on an extra significance given that the two teams have been pooled together again for European competition this season.

Ulster then travel to London where they will take on Harlequins on Saturday, August 21 (kick-off 2.30pm), before rounding off their pre-season programme at home to Neil Back’s Leeds Carnegie on Thursday, August 26 (kick-off 7.30pm).

Former World Cup winner Back spent his first season with Leeds in 2008/09, guiding them to promotion from the Championship and last season they placed 10th in the Premiership table.

In a big change to the match night experience this season at Ravenhill, supporters coming to the home friendlies will see the car-park area of the ground transformed into a food village with lots of activities to keep adults and kids amused pre-match.

Tickets for Ulster v Bath and Ulster v Leeds will be available to purchase from 9am on Friday, July 23, priced at £15 (adults) and £10 (Under-16s) for the Main Stand and £12 (adults) and £6 (Under-16s) for the Promenade and Terrace. Pre-season friendlies are included in the 2010/11 Ulster Rugby Season Ticket.
