Munster And Ulster To Meet In British & Irish Cup Semi-Final

Munster and Ulster will meet in the semi final of the British & Irish Cup. The draw was made today and has pitched the two provinces against each other with the winner travelling to England for the final against either the Cornish Pirates or Doncaster Knights.

The draw for the semi-finals of the British & Irish Cup took place in Cardiff this morning.

Semi-final 1: Munster v Ulster
Semi-final 2: Cornish Pirates v Doncaster Knights

The semi-finals will take place over the weekend of April 23 to 25.

The winner of semi-final 2 will have home advantage in the final, which will take place on Sunday, May 16 at 6pm, live on Sky Sports HD.

British & Irish Cup tournament director Terry Burwell said: “We now have two mouth-watering semi-finals for players, coaches and supporters of these clubs and provinces to look forward to

“There will also be an Anglo-Irish final live on Sky Sports HD which will further showcase this exciting new cross-border competition.”

– 3 Irish provinces (Munster Leinster and Ulster)
– 3 Scottish teams – top two finishers in Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division 1 (champions Ayr and runners-up Heriot’s) and the Scottish Thistles, a team drawn from Edinburgh and Glasgow and members of Scottish Rugby’s National Academy
