McLaughlin Keeps Ulster Grounded

Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin wants his players to keep their feet fixed firmly on the ground after their stunning opening night victory over bath at Ravenhill on Friday.

But while the 26-12 triumph was the perfect start to Ulster’s Pool 4 campaign, Brian McLaughlin is concerned about the round trip to Murrayfield to face Edinburgh.

The Scottish outfit pipped Ulster at Ravenhill in the Magners League recently and McLaughlin is set to use the pain from that defeat to motivate his players in the build-up.

“This squad of players are building something that could go a long way for us. I don’t want to get too cock-a-hoop because we might underachieve then,” he said.

“We want this squad to grow together and they showed what they are capable of against Bath.

“The challenge now is to build on this performance and keep the hunger high over the next week.

“We have to go to Edinburgh in a positive mood and ensure we perform again. We have to step up at Murrayfield and keep this form going.”
