Munster Include Hayes And Quinlan

John Hayes and Alan Quinlan have both been included in the 25-man Munster squad announced this morning for the Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park Stadium on Friday night (kick-off 7.05pm).

Because he was a late call-up to the Lions, John Hayes returns to the squad ahead of the other Munster Lions, while Alan Quinlan’s 12-week suspension for the incident in the semi-final of the Heineken Cup ends tomorrow (Wednesday).

Munster team manager Shaun Payne, however, refused to be drawn on whether or not either would be included in the matchday squad against the Blues.

“At this stage both are included in the extended squad. We’ll wait and see how things go in training tomorrow,” he said.

“But it has to be remembered that in match terms these two are four games behind the other players in the squad.”

Payne confirmed that Paul Warwick is suffering from a foot ligament injury that will keep him sidelined for the next two to three weeks.

In addition, Ian Dowling continues to be troubled by a knee injury with no definite date being given for the Kilkenny man’s return.
