Warwick Included In Munster Squad

The Munster management have confirmed a 25-man squad for the province’s opening Magners League match against Glasgow Warriors at Firhill on Friday (kick-off 8pm).

Included in the squad is Paul Warwick who retired with a foot injury in the early stages of the game against Leicester Tigers last weekend.

Munster team manager Shaun Payne declared himself ‘hopeful’ that Warwick’s injury will have cleared up in time for him to take his place on the plane to Glasgow.

Also making the cut are the try scorers from last Friday’s loss to Leicester – Denis Hurley, Damien Varley and Felix Jones – as well as underage internationals Ian Nagle and Danny Barnes, who have both impressed during the pre-season campaign.

Like Jones, new signings Toby Morland and Julien Brugnaut look poised to make their competitive debuts for Munster on Scottish soil.

Meanwhile, in a further boost for Tony McGahan’s side, the quartet of Doug Howlett, Lifeimi Mafi, Jeremy Manning and Tony Buckley, who had all been named n the squad for Leicester but then withdrew, are back in contention to line out in the league opener.
