Productive Portugal Trip For Munster
The Munster squad have completed a week of warm-weather training at the exclusive Browns Sports and Leisure Club in Vilamoura, Portugal, returning home on Wednesday afternoon.
Browns have hosted the England national squad and Bath this year, but were especially delighted to welcome Munster, European rugby’s top ranked professional team.
Alan Brown, the proprietor of Browns Sports and Leisure Club, said: “At Browns we pride ourselves on providing top class facilities for top flight professional teams.
“The impression created by Tony McGahan and his squad made it easy for our staff to understand why Munster have been so successful in recent years.
“Having enjoyed the company of Tony, Lions skipper Paul O’Connell and all the other current and rising stars within the squad, everyone at Browns, and across the Algarve looks forward to seeing them come back again very soon.
“The Munster players were fabulous ambassadors for rugby, their province and Ireland. We wish them every success in the new season.”
For their part, Munster expressed total satisfaction with the trip.
Head coach McGahan complimenting the centre for ‘its excellent facilities that allowed us get some really valuable work done.’
Evidence of that work may be seen on Friday night when Munster host Sale Sharks at Musgrave Park (kick-off 7pm) in the first of their three pre-season games.
