Frequently Asked Questions
How do I login to RugbyConnect?
Club members: https://irfu.sportsmanager.ie/sportlomo/users/login
Club administrators: https://irfu.sportsmanager.ie/maint.php
I cannot remember what email I used to register
Please search your email accounts (work, personal etc.) for ‘Sportlomo’. You should find your registration email or a renewal reminder email from the system in the email account you have used previously. If you no longer have access to the email account – you will have to ask someone in your club to request an email account change for your address. They will let you know when this has been completed.
Can I amend or edit my own/another players details I added when registering?
To log into your account at any time to amend or edit your details you can use the following link: https://irfu.sportsmanager.ie/sportlomo/users/login
Some details can only be amended by your branch, such as Date of Birth and IRFU ID number.
How is my data stored?
All your details stored in our system is secure and follow the IRFU data provisions: https://www.irishrugby.ie/privacy-policy
Proof of age identification documents stored in the system will be removed and deleted within 24 hours of being approved. Each form has been carefully designed with GDPR in mind, to ask the minimum amount of questions we need to govern the game and competitions whilst also requesting a number of pertinent Terms and Conditions are agreed to.
Why did I get a new IRFU ID?
RugbyConnect will automatically generate a new IRFU for each person if a record ‘match’ was not found for the player by the club.
If you are renewing your membership you should retain your number from last year, if the system did generate a new IRFU ID, there is likely a duplicate record. Please flag this with someone in your club.
I have registered the player but the coach says they can’t see them to pick for the panel or teamsheets?
You will have received an email confirmation when you registered / renewed this season. If you got this email, please ask the coach to follow up with the Club administrator, as you are likely still ‘awaiting approval’. Your club administrator needs to approve you before the coach will be able to see them in the system.
How does the player request a transfer?
All transfers are now completed in the system, therefore you have to be registered in the system with your old club in order for a transfer to be completed. Either your new club or your old club can request the transfer. Once either has initiated the transfer you will get an email to indicate this and be prompted to log into the system to accept the transfer.
Please note the transfer is not fully completed until you log in through the system and sign up for your new club.
Do not register with your new club, using their link – this will not complete your transfer correctly.
Please ensure you ‘complete’ the registration and do not start a new registration.
Youths/Minis
What is a proof of age document?
A proof of age document is an official government document that can verify the child’s age, for example: Passport or a birth certificate. The name on the registration form submitted should be the same as the document uploaded in order to ensure there is no delay in approving the registration.
Why are previously registered youths being asked to provide proof of age again?
If you have not previously registered to play Rugby on RugbyConnect you will be prompted to upload a photograph and Proof of age identification. The proof of age identification will not need to be submitted in subsequent years and will be deleted once approved. Photographs will be valid for 3 seasons. After this time, a new updated photograph will need to be updated
Are there any guidelines for the photograph?
Ideally the photograph should be:
- Passport standard size where at all possible
- Shoulders and head where possible in shot
- White background
- No cap/hat/scarf
- using the phone to register, it will allow to take and upload a ‘selfie’/rotate camera. Please be aware large photo images will not upload, if you can limit the size to 2mg the photo will save with no issues.
Senior Players
How do dual and loan players work in RugbyConnect?
Dual and loan player requirements are now all live in RugbyConnect. The player should be registered in their ‘home’ club and then as per previous seasons the dual and loan status is requested through your province (IRFU for AIL). The status will be added to the players RugbyConnect Account, and the loan / dual club will now be able to view the players details.
I am a player and also a coach – how do I register?
You have to choose to sign up with one of the forms. E.g. Player. If you then want to add the coach role, log into their Sportlomo account, on your ‘Home’ page select ‘Upgrade / Add Category’. From here you will be presented with any additional questions from the coach form that were not captured in the player form. Similarly, if you had originally signed up as a coach, they would select ‘Upgrade / Add Category’, and add the ‘Player form’.

Munster Clubs: aidancleary@munsterrugby.ie

Do I need to create panels every season?
Yes, although we are aware that this is a cumbersome process, this is best practice in terms of GDPR, as your panels for the new season can only be created with members who have signed up and registered or renewed for the upcoming season, agreeing to all the terms and conditions for that season
Does RugbyConnect have attendance tracking?
Yes, RugbyConnect has the ability to schedule, track and record attendance for sessions and games. Once a player is registered, the coach can add them to sessions, and request them to mark their attendance prior. There is a separate user guide and video available above.
Do all my coaches need to be on RugbyConnect?
Yes, all coaches should be registered and assigned to their panels in team sheet panels.
Once a coach is assigned to a panel, they will be able to manage their squad from their own RugbyConnect account they do not need to use the club administration login. This is important for GDPR purposes as it limits a coach having access to all member data in a club.
A coach will also need to be in the system in order to complete their vetting which is processed solely through RugbyConnect.
Do not setup coaches or managers as club administrators. The must be registered as a coach. This allows them access to their panels and teamsheets.
Can I see coaches education and training in RugbyConnect?
In ‘member credentials’ you will see all members in your club who have a credential. In ‘member qualifications’ you will see all your members with full qualifications. Credentials and qualifications are brought over from our education system Gainline, if the coach is not signed up with the same name and email in both systems there will be omissions.
Do all my committee need to be on RugbyConnect?
Yes, every season we will be collecting the contact details of the various roles and committee members in your club. Please follow the guide on how you assign roles within your club, all those with a role in your club, must be registered on the system in order for you to assign them.
Please note you will need to have a ‘Non-playing membership’ available for these members to register.
Who needs to upload Proof of age Identification?
Proof of age identification only needs to be submitted to the club and then onto the province once in a mini / youths membership span.
All members ‘renewing’ do NOT need to upload proof of age Identification, as the system has saved the history of the provincial staff having approved their ID in either of the 2 previous seasons.
If a mini or youth is new to a rugby club, or has not registered since RugbyConnect was introduced they will need to upload proof of age Identification.
What is a proof of age document?
A proof of age document is an official government document that can verify the child’s age, for example: Passport or a birth certificate. The name on the registration form submitted should be the same as the document uploaded in order to ensure there is no delay in approving the registration
Can I take payments in RugbyConnect?
This is dealt with directly with our vendor Sportlomo, please contact eoin.carney@sportlomo.com to get set up. Sportlomo can quickly set up your memberships payments, however just some guidance so you can prepare for this conversation; Sportlomo will require you to have a Stripe account and also to know if your club is going to absorb the Sportlomo fees or if they pass them on to the members. i.e., for a €100 membership, a club absorbing fees still means the member only pays €100 but the club receives less than that. For a club passing on the fees, a member will pay approx. €104 for a €100 membership.
Please note more robust family memberships and instalment options are now available in the system.
