The event runs from Friday to Sunday and brings together some of the world's leading university rugby nations for three days of international competition.
The 12-player Irish squad, coached by James Topping, was announced last month ahead of the team's departure for South Africa.
The group includes a number of players who have impressed in the Vodafone Women's Interprovincial Championship, as well as Caitríona O'Hagan and Rola Olusola, two recent graduates of the IRFU Combines.
Ireland will compete against top university teams from around the globe at the iconic Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch, with 17 Men's and Women's teams from 14 countries taking part in this year's Championship.
Topping's side will be aiming to make a strong impression on the international stage while showcasing the continued growth and strength of Women's university rugby in Ireland.
