Nic Dhonnacha And Pearse Kick Off 2026 At Top Of #EnergiaAIL Scoring Charts

UL Bohemian duo Éabha Nic Dhonnacha and Chloe Pearse are the main movers in the Energia All-Ireland League scoring charts, having helped the defending champions to make a winning start to the new year.

With Caitríona Finn away on Celtic Challenge duty, Nic Dhonnacha has edged ahead of her UL Bohs team-mate as the top points scorer in the Women’s Division. She kicked three conversions against Ballincollig to move onto 73 points for the season so far.

In the recent absence of both Finn and Kate Flannery, the 21-year-old Ros a’ Mhíl native has really stepped up, moving to out-half and contributing three tries and 14 conversions in the last three rounds.

Finn’s 70-point tally has been matched by Railway Union youngster Heidi Lyons who continues to impressive in her debut campaign at this level. The Naas teenager (pictured above) scored her 12th try of 2025/26 against Galwegians, and also landed her fifth conversion.

In the try-scoring stakes, both Lyons and UL captain Pearse have caught up with Blackrock College’s Maggie Boylan, who is busy running in scores for the Wolfhounds. The trio are on 12 tries each after ten rounds of league action.

Experienced number 8 Pearse, who has lifted the All-Ireland League trophy the last two seasons, is in a rich vein of form currently. Her brace at home to Ballincollig made it eight tries in her last six appearances for Bohs.

The division’s leading nine scorers are separated by 18 points, with Railway Union’s Hannah Scanlan and Claire Boles, UL winger Alana McInerney, and Old Belvedere out-half Ellie O’Sullivan Sexton all tucked closely behind Boylan and Pearse.

Meanwhile, Blackrock College captain Hannah O’Connor starred with a 21-point haul against Cooke, which included eight conversions. Their runaway victory also saw forwards Sam Brackett and Nikki Gibson both register hat-tricks.

Round 11 takes place on Saturday with matches in Dublin, Belfast, Tullow, and Wicklow. The meeting of second-placed Blackrock and Galwegians, who are fifth in the table, is being live streamed from Stradbrook on irishrugby+ (kick-off 3pm).
