Connacht Rugby has confirmed the players who will depart the province at the end of the current season.

As previously announced, JJ Hanrahan and Andrew Smith will move to Munster, while Adam McBurney and John Porch were granted early releases from their contracts during the season to take up playing opportunities elsewhere.

Also departing Connacht are the following:

  • Santiago Cordero, who arrived in the summer of 2023 and recovered from a serious knee injury during pre-season training to play 20 times since his return 12 months ago
  • Conor Oliver, who joined Connacht in 2020 and has gone on to make 95 appearances for the province, scoring 10 tries
  • Piers O’Conor, who has accepted a playing opportunity elsewhere after 17 games and three tries since signing from Bristol Bears last year

Connacht Rugby has offered their thanks to all the players for their contributions to the team and the province.

They will always be welcome back to Dexcom Stadium, and as is tradition, supporters will have an opportunity to pay their well-wishes to them after Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Edinburgh.
