RTE Gets Behind Ireland’s WRWC 2017 Campaign

RTE Television and Radio will begin its live coverage of Ireland’s 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup campaign when they take on Australia at the UCD Bowl tonight (kick-off 7pm).

Former Ireland Women’s Internationals Fiona Steed, Rosie Foley and Lynne Cantwell will join Daire O’Brien for live coverage on RTÉ Two and the RTÉ Player (Republic of Ireland only). Commentary will come from Ryle Nugent and Fiona Coghlan with Clare MacNamara reporting. Evanne Ní Chuilinn will also report throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, fans can also keep up with the WRWC action on radio as Michael Corcoran will have full live commentary on RTÉ 2fm alongside former Ireland international Grace Davitt, with Damien O’Meara reporting.

RTÉ will follow the Ireland team every step of the way with live coverage of all of Ireland’s pool games at the UCD Bowl – against Australia tonight, Japan next Sunday and France on Thursday week (August 17) – as well as Ireland’s games in the finals stages in Belfast and the Women’s Rugby World Cup final at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday, August 26.
 
Live coverage will be broadcast across RTÉ Two, the RTÉ Player and RTÉ 2fm. The RTÉ News Now app and www.rte.ie/sport will have match trackers for each Ireland game, pre-match & post-match analysis, and interviews posted to social media along with post-match reaction.
