Ireland and Leinster second-row Malcolm O’Kelly has been chosen by Ireland’s professinal rugby players as their Players’ Player of the Year 2003.The inaugural awards dinner was held in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin and O’Kelly who played in all of Ireland’s 10 successive wins and all but one of Leinster’s seven consecutive victories in Europe, won the award ahead of Geordan Murphy and John Hayes.

Establishing an awards’ dinner in the association’s first season gives IRUPA further credibility and over 450 turned up at last (Thursday) night’s ceremony and fittingly the legendary Peter Clohessy and Mick Galwey were inducted into the association’s Hall of Fame.
