The festival brought together players, coaches and volunteers from across the country for a memorable day of sport and community, highlighting the continued growth of Mixed Ability rugby in Ireland.
Developed through a partnership between Malone Tornadoes and Kinsale RFC, the event was supported by Irish Rugby through Dormant Accounts funding, helping to create an opportunity for players of all abilities to come together and enjoy the game in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The scale of the festival demonstrated the strength and enthusiasm of the Mixed Ability rugby community, with 9 teams, 190 players and 14 games played across the day.
More than just a day of rugby, the festival provided an opportunity for people to meet, build friendships and share their passion for the sport. The atmosphere throughout the day reflected the inclusive spirit at the heart of Mixed Ability rugby, with players, coaches and volunteers all playing an important role in making the event a success.
Events such as this showcase how rugby can bring people together, create connections and provide opportunities for everyone to participate and enjoy the game.
With Mixed Ability rugby continuing to grow across Ireland, the Kinsale festival was a fantastic example of what can be achieved when clubs and communities work together to make rugby accessible to all.
