Ireland Women's Squad Named For Hamburg 7s

Megan Burns

Head Coach James Topping has named the Ireland Women’s Sevens squad for the opening leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Championship Series 2026 in Hamburg.

The 13-player Ireland squad are in action from Friday as the Hamburg 7s kicks off at the Sportanlage Sportwiesenweg.

Captained by Megan Burns, the Ireland squad contains an exciting blend of Sevens experience and youth, with the inclusion of Kyah Coady particularly notable.

Coady, who played soccer in the Dutch Eredivisie and most recently lined out for Treaty United, was scouted through the IRFU’s Talent Identification Combine hosted in University of Limerick earlier this year.

Ireland open their Pool A campaign against Belgium on Friday morning (10.06am local time), before going head-to-head with Great Britain later in the day (2.59pm local time).

Topping’s side conclude the Pool stages against Denmark on Saturday morning (10.06am local time), with all the action live on RugbyEurope TV here.
