The Energia All-Ireland League Men's Divisions return for Round 5 this weekend, with unbeaten records on the line, heavyweight provincial derbies and plenty of early season points at stake. From Old Belvedere's trip to Cork Constitution in Division 1A to two mouthwatering clashes between unbeaten sides in Divisions 2B North and South, another compelling weekend of club rugby awaits.

Division 1A leaders Old Belvedere travel to Temple Hill looking to build on their impressive victory over Clontarf. Belvo have not won away to Cork Constitution since March 2014, while the ninth placed hosts seek a response following defeat to UCD.

Second placed Terenure College welcome UCD to Lakelands chasing a third consecutive Dublin derby victory, having already overcome Old Wesley and St Mary's College. UCD arrive following victory over Cork Con but have not won at Lakelands since February 2020.

Clontarf welcome bottom placed Ballynahinch to Castle Avenue hoping to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Belvo. Hinch secured their first victory against Lansdowne last weekend and will be determined to build on that result at a venue where they have yet to win.

Old Wesley host defending champions St Mary's College at Energia Park, with Wesley chasing a third consecutive home victory and Mary’s hoping to avoid three straight defeats. Young Munster and Lansdowne complete the programme at Tom Clifford Park, both seeking a return to winning ways.

Division 1B begins under the Friday night lights as leaders Highfield welcome bottom placed UCC to Woodleigh Park for a Cork derby. Highfield chase a fourth consecutive victory, while the students are still searching for their first win after four defeats.

Second placed Dublin University travel to Shaw's Bridge to face Instonians in a repeat of last season's promotion play-off semi-final, which Trinity won to end the Ulster side's promotion ambitions. Instonians arrive chasing a third successive victory, while the students aim for consecutive wins.

Third placed Blackrock College travel to Dooradoyle to face Garryowen, hoping to end a winless run at the venue stretching back to February 2011. Garryowen won 31-28 when the sides met there in March and arrive following victory over UCC.

Naas welcome City of Armagh to Forenaughts, with just two points separating the fourth and fifth placed sides. Both seek a response to defeats last weekend, while Armagh aim for their first win at the venue since January 2023.

Nenagh Ormond host MU Barnhall at New Ormond Park, looking to avoid a third straight defeat. Barnhall narrowly lost to leaders Highfield last weekend and will be eager to turn another competitive performance into points.

Division 2A leaders Ballymena welcome Wanderers to Eaton Park seeking a fifth consecutive victory. The Ulster side have collected 18 points from a possible 20, although Wanderers arrive chasing a third straight win after defeating Shannon and Cashel. The Dubliners also won 38-17 on their last visit to Eaton Park.

Second placed Dungannon travel to Spafield for a major promotion battle against third placed Cashel. Dungannon remain unbeaten after four rounds, while Cashel seek an immediate response to their first defeat. The sides drew 25-25 at this venue last November.

Galway Corinthians welcome Shannon to Creggs, looking to maintain their position in the top four. Corinthians won 27-22 in their last home meeting, while Shannon hope to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

Queen's University travel to UL Bohemian aiming to halt a three game losing run, while Bohs seek a response after defeat to Corinthians. Greystones welcome bottom placed Galwegians to Dr Hickey Park, with the hosts looking for their first home victory and Wegians still chasing their opening win.

Division 2B North serves up a huge Ulster derby as unbeaten leaders Clogher Valley travel to second placed Malone at Gibson Park. Only score difference separates the sides after four victories apiece, although Malone won 24-15 when the teams last met at the venue in March.

Third placed Ballyclare welcome Banbridge to The Cloughan for their first AIL meeting. Both sides experienced contrasting fortunes last weekend, with Ballyclare suffering their first defeat against Navan and Banbridge securing their opening victory against Enniskillen.

Enniskillen welcome Skerries hoping to bounce back from their first AIL defeat, while the visitors seek to avoid three consecutive losses.

Sligo host Navan at Hamilton Park, with the Meath side looking to build on their impressive victory over Ballyclare. Rainey welcome Malahide to Hatrick Park still searching for their first win, while the visitors arrive following victory over Sligo.

Division 2B South features another blockbuster encounter as unbeaten leaders Clonmel welcome second placed Old Crescent to Ard Gaoithe. Both clubs have secured four consecutive bonus point victories, with just three points of score difference separating them. Their first AIL meeting, but their most recent was Clonmel's 38-8 victory in March's Munster Senior Plate final.

Third placed Bective Rangers travel to Thomond chasing a fourth consecutive win, although the Limerick side won 29-22 when they hosted Bective last September.

Midleton travel to Virgin Media Park for an all Cork derby against Dolphin, seeking their first AIL victory at the venue since December 2000. Dolphin won last season's corresponding fixture 26-19 but enter this contest following three consecutive defeats.

Bruff visit bottom placed Enniscorthy hoping to build on their victory over Dolphin, while the Wexford side remain without a point. Monkstown welcome Buccaneers in their first league meeting since the 1997/98 campaign, with both clubs seeking a response to heavy defeats last weekend.
