Canterbury Unveils 2026/27 Ireland Kit As 'Made Tougher Together' Celebrates The People Behind Irish Rugby

Ireland Men's players launch the new kit.

Canterbury has unveiled Ireland’s new 2026/27 kit in Dublin, celebrating the players and supporters who make Irish rugby tougher together.

Launched as part of Canterbury’s global Made Tougher Together platform, the new kit represents the connection between those pulling on the jersey and those standing behind them.

Rather than focusing solely on what happens on the pitch, the project celebrates everyone who plays a part in Irish rugby. From the squad preparing to represent their country to the supporters getting ready to stand behind them, Made Tougher Together reflects Canterbury’s belief that shared effort brings us together and strengthens us as a whole.

At the heart of the launch is a new project film exploring the rituals that build towards an Ireland match day. The 20-second film draws parallels between players preparing to take to the pitch and supporters preparing to cheer them on, showing two different experiences united by the same anticipation, passion and sense of belonging.

Adding a distinctly Irish sound to the project, the film is soundtracked by renowned traditional musician Cormac Begley, whose music provides the backdrop as the players’ and supporters’ journeys converge towards match day.

Simon Rowe, Global SVP at Canterbury said: "Made Tougher Together is about recognising that rugby is never just about the players on the pitch. In Ireland especially, there is such a strong connection between the team, the supporters and the wider rugby community, and we wanted this launch to celebrate that.

"The new kit represents the next chapter of our partnership with Irish Rugby, but also the rituals, anticipation and shared goals that bring people together on match day. That is what we wanted to capture through the campaign and ultimately what this jersey stands for."

Philip Staunton, Buying Director at Intersport Elverys said: "Bringing a new Ireland jersey to supporters around the world is always an exciting prospect. What has made this campaign particularly special is the opportunity to celebrate the people and stories behind the jersey - from those men and women representing Ireland to the club players, supporters, and volunteers who contribute to making the game unique.

"Bringing these voices together has allowed us to showcase the journeys that connect everyone who pulls on the green jersey, whether they are on the field or in the stands. We hope the 2026/27 kit becomes an iconic part of that journey, inspiring memories that live long after the final whistle for Ireland supporters everywhere."

Padraig Power, Deputy CEO/Chief Commercial Officer of the IRFU, said: "The Ireland jersey has always stood for much more than the players who wear it on the pitch. It represents the supporters, clubs and communities across the country who are part of Irish rugby every week.

"That sense of connection comes through strongly in this project. As we begin another season with Canterbury, we’re looking forward to seeing players and supporters come together behind the new jersey and everything it represents."

The launch marks the latest chapter in Canterbury’s longstanding relationship with Irish Rugby. The two organisations first partnered between 2000 and 2009, before reuniting in 2014.

The new kit will make its competitive debut when Ireland Women face the USA on Sunday, 20 September. Whilst the Ireland Men will be in action in the new kit when they face Argentina at Aviva Stadium on Friday, 6 November, as Andy Farrell's begin the next stage of the Nations Championship.

The Canterbury Ireland 2026/27 Home Kit is available from Thursday, 3 September at 9am and can be purchased through Intersport Elverys and Canterbury.com.
