Ireland Draw Series With Springboks After Unforgettable Finish

Ireland drew their two-match series with South Africa, following a thrilling 25-24 victory in Durban where Ciarán Frawley nailed a last-gasp drop goal to win the game.

A strong first half from Ireland, at the home of the Hollywoodbets Sharks, saw Jack Crowley’s right boot, and a second try of the summer tour from Conor Murray, build a 16-6 lead.

South Africa hit back with penalty after penalty, profiting from Ireland captain Caelan Doris’ sin-binning. Handre Pollard landed all eight of his place-kicks to establish a 24-19 lead.

However, Frawley nailed a terrific drop goal in the 69th minute, and Andy Farrell’s men worked their way up the pitch again for the Skerries man to kick Ireland to only their second ever victory over the Springboks on South African soil.
