It also provides an opportunity to develop writing skills such as match reports and generating weekly newsletter content.    This role would require ca. 2 hours per week but can be tailored to suit the individual. The volunteer can also get valuable mentoring, support and guidance from the communications team to help them in the role. Working with the full-time groundsman, volunteers would assist with general grounds maintenance as well as repair work as needs arise. The role requires helpers to be a visible presence in the hall, to ensure that the kids know that there is a friendly, approachable, adult presence at all times, and to keep an eye out for any children who look like they might need assistance. Other helpers co-ordinate the car park to ensure that the movement of cars and children occurs in a safe manner. Full guidance is provided to new helpers and vetting will be required.    This role would suit people who want to help provide a secure source of entertainment and social interaction for local children.
