Scott Fardy has confirmed that he has signed a one-year contract extension with Leinster. He made the announced at a press conference today in Leinster HQ ahead of Friday’s GUINNESS PRO14 match at home to the Toyota Cheetahs.

The Australian international, who joined the province in August 2017, has made 37 appearances so far. He helped the province to a Heineken Champions Cup and PRO14 double in his first season and has scored eight tries to date, including three scores in their successful 2017/18 European run.

The lock/flanker, who turns 35 in July, said: “I’ve re-signed with Leinster so I’ll be going again for another year. Very happy. I made that decision a while ago, just things had to get sorted out. I’m really happy to be here for another year and continue to go after trophies.

“We’re enjoying it, my wife (Penelope) has settled in well and the young fella (August) is growing up pretty quickly. We’re enjoying our time here in Dublin.

“With the squad you’ve got and the leaders here and obviously the staff as well, no one’s really selling you anything. With the senior players and junior players here, it’s easy to get caught up and really just enjoy your rugby.”
