Ireland U-18 Schools Squad Announced For FIRA European Championship
The Ireland Under-18 Schools squad, sponsored by PwC, has been announced for the FIRA/AER Under-18 European Championship which take place in Poland from April 10 to 20.
Ireland, who compete in the Elite Division, will start their campaign off against Georgia this Friday in Opalenica in western Poland.
An Irish win would set up a clash with either France or Italy on Tuesday, April 15. Ireland’s final match of the tournament will take place on Saturday, April 19.
The other competing nations in the Elite Division of the FIRA/AER European Championship are England, Wales, France, Scotland, Italy, Georgia and Portugal.
The Ireland Under-18 Schools squad is coached by Noel McNamara (head coach), Mark Butler (backs coach), Brian Robinson (forwards coach) and Paul McCarthy (scrum coach).
McNamara’s youngsters warmed up for the Championship with a 26-6 warm-up win over Scotland in Coolmine last week. You can watch match highlights here.
