Sheahan's appeal was heard by a three-man ERC committee in Dublin today and Monday and despite coming to a decision on the issue last night, their verdict was handed down today. Frankie has also been fined €;5,000.

Sheahan's father, Frank Snr, commented: "We were delighted with the way the appeal went. We always felt the decision to ban Frankie was totally and absolutely wrong."
Having already served three months of a ban, Sheahan can be considered for the upcoming RWC, which starts in just over five weeks.
