McCall Appointed Ireland Under 21 Coach

Former Irish international Mark McCall has been appointed Coach to the Ireland under 21 rugby international team in succession to Michael Bradley who takes over as Director of Rugby in Connacht

Former Irish international Mark McCall has been appointed Coach to the Ireland under 21 rugby international team.

McCall, who has been assistant coach to Ulster, replaces Michael Bradley, now coach of Connacht, as part of the IRFU indigenous coaching development programme.

McCall played his club rugby with Bangor, Dungannon and London Irish and made his senior international debut when he came on as a replacement in the first Test against New Zealand in Carisbrook, Dunedin, in May 1992.

His first full cap arrived a week later in the second Test – in Wellington – and he went on to win a further 11 caps ending his playing career af the midfield partner of Kevin Maggs in the second Test against South Africa in Loftus Versfeld.

The former Shannon, Munster and Ireland A full back Pat Murray has been re-appointed coach to the Ireland under 19 team.
