Captain’s Run Done As Ireland ‘Excited’ To Face Old Rivals

The Ireland team put the final touches to their preparations at Captain’s Run in Aviva Stadium ahead of the final round Super Saturday clash with Scotland.

The Triple Crown is on the line and one player who is raring to go is Ireland centre Bundee Aki, who was named in the replacements for the match.

Speaking exclusively to Irish Rugby TV in the latest episode of Connected To Camp Aki said, “I am buzzing, I haven’t been out there in a while but it’s actually been class to watch the lads play. They’ve been playing unbelieveable. It was great to come back in and join the team. I love being around camp, the buzz you get is unreal and it’s definitely something you don’t take for granted.

“You miss that feeling when you’re away, you miss the buzz. It was class helping the boys warming up last week but it’s just not the same when you’re sitting in the crowd watching on. I’d rather be out there playing and I get a chance this week, so I’m really looking forward to that.”

Meanwhile Ireland Captain Caelan Doris says there is huge excitement in the squad, “There’s nerves and excitement and that’s because we care. We know what’s at stake. We know we want to get it right. We know we want to finish the tournament with our best performance yet.

“There’s obviously a Triple Crown on the line against our good old rivals Scotland so there is a lot at stake and with that comes nerves but tons of excitement as well.
