The club’s statement says: “It is great to see our club take the lead in starting the conversations about the serious problems that are out there affecting our members, players, families and community. We are hoping that our guest speakers will help everyone to be aware of the dangers that could affect them but also make them aware of the support that is available to help fight addiction.”

Guest speakers include:

Alan Quinlan – Former Munster Rugby and Ireland player.

Ciaran Carey – Former Limerick hurler and addiction counsellor.

Cathal Sheridan – Munster Rugby Mental Skills Coach

Martin Leonard – Mountain A Month For Mental Health

Joe Slattery – Community Substance Misuse Team

Padraig Sutton – Roxboro Road Garda Station

The event is free to attend and the club are asking for a small donation on the night to Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention & Limerick Suicide Watch.

Richmond say:

“Our club is hoping this event will be motivating and we invite all players over 16, families, supporters, friends and the wider community to come down to our clubhouse and listen to these challenging topics and hopefully we can work together in the future to help support people with addition.  Looking forward to seeing you all at the event on Tuesday the 2nd of April.”
