Skerries RFC: Promoting Spirit Of Rugby Through Technology

Skerries RFC are one of a number of clubs in Irish Rugby using technology to shine a light on rugby values and bring members closer together.

An initiative by their underage section focused on bringing their Code of Conduct to life through some bedtime reading for parents and children.

Irish Rugby TV went to Skerries recently to find out more about what Spirit of Rugby means to the club and how they are using technology to address some of the challenges faced by volunteers and parents.

You can see more about Skerries RFC and their “rugby family” in the above video.

The IRFU have established a Club Rugby Technology Working Group to look at ways of supporting clubs and reducing volunteer time in managing club activities.

23 clubs from across the four provinces gathered at the Aviva Stadium on February 17th, 2019 for the first workshop.

Clubs were updated on IRFU Data Systems and shared ideas around best practice communications at club level.

They identified areas of focus for the working group and were given the chance to feed back about ongoing and upcoming initiatives designed to streamline volunteerism within Irish Rugby.
