Two years ago Joey Carbery celebrated his 21st birthday as part of the Ireland team that beat New Zealand. We caught up with the birthday boy after kicking practice in Soldier Filed ahead of the game against Italy on Saturday.
Celebrating his 23rd birthday this week, Joey Carbery is looking forward to kicking off a busy November fixture list that includes the game here in Chicago and the Guinness Series matches against Argentina, New Zealand and USA in Aviva Stadium.
Speaking after kicking practice in Soldier Field he said “It’s a really special place for me, the stadium is incredible and it is a really exciting week here in Chicago.
I have great memories of being here and this is where it started, I’m very grateful to be back where it all began.”
Carbery, Ross Byrne, Luke McGrath and John Cooney got in some kicking practice at Soldier Field as they prepare for Saturday’s Rugby Weekend clash with Italy.
