Easterby And Scannell Confident In Lineout Process

Ireland forwards coach Simon Easterby and hooker Niall Scannell spoke today about some changes to the team’s lineout and their confidence in the system.

Asked about the absence of Devin Toner, Scannell commented:

It is obviously disappointing for Dev and, as a mate, you feel bad for a guy not being selected, but the main thing for me as a thrower is that I have absolutely full confidence in all our lineout callers.

“We have three lads – James (Ryan), Hendy (Iain Henderson) and Tadhg (Beirne) – and even if one of them was sin-binned, I’d have full confidence in Pete (O’Mahony) as well.”
