Ireland had not won a Triple Crown in 19 years going into this match but following wins against Wales and England the anticipation was high. Player of the season Gordon D’Arcy scored twice while Geordan Murphy, David Wallace and Peter Stringer also touched down, plus six successful Ronan O’Gara kicks saw Ireland win by 37-16.
