Strong Second Half Sees Ireland Women Beat England

Seventh was not where they wanted to finish, but the Ireland Women (sponsored by TritonLake) delivered a strong second half performance to ensure a winning conclusion to their Rugby World Cup Sevens campaign.

Ireland and England went try for try during the first half of their Cape Town clash, before efforts from Megan Burns and Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe – with her fourth score of the weekend – settled the issue.

It means the Ireland Women have finished in the top seven at each of the three Sevens World Cups so far. Their highest placing came four years ago when they were sixth in San Francisco.
