Ireland Squad Departs For Rugby World Cup On Aer Lingus’ Green Spirit

As the official airline of the Ireland rugby team, Aer Lingus was proud to send Joe Schmidt, Rory Best and the rest of the travelling party on their way to Japan and to help to bring ‘Home Advantage’ wherever we play.

Pictured boarding Aer Lingus’ Green Spirit, flight EI174, to London Heathrow this afternoon was the 31-man Ireland Rugby World Cup squad, led by captain Best.

Aer Lingus cabin crew and ground staff formed a guard of honour as they boarded the aircraft. Flight EI174 was operated by Aer Lingus captain Thomas Jordan and first officer Nicholas Power.
