The clouds parted and the rain stopped as over 4,000 fans were treated to a fantastic Ireland open training session at the Aviva Stadium this morning.
The Ireland Men’s team were joined by their Under-20 counterparts, and the two sides, both victorious against England last weekend, were put through their paces before finishing off with some intense backs and forwards work.
After the session, the players signed autographs and posed for photos and were joined by the legend that is ‘Kevin the Carrot’.
“These days are always important, I think the players enjoy them,” said Ireland assistant coach Simon Easterby. “The 20s, they set the tone last Friday in Bath, and I genuinely think that the group were motivated by that performance, them beating England.
“You know, we saw today the way they trained as well against us was excellent. These days are really important. You don’t get the chance to do this very often.
“When we do do it, I think the players genuinely enjoy it and they enjoy seeing some of the younger fans get an opportunity to meet the players. It’s a really nice day where fans and players get the chance to mix a little bit.”
