Treadwell Signs On For Three More Years With Ulster

Kieran Treadwell, who is on the Ireland bench for Saturday’s Bank of Ireland Nations Series opener South Africa, will continue to call Ulster home for at least the next three seasons.

From hitting his 100-cap milestone with Ulster to being involved in some of the biggest games of last season for both the province and Ireland, Treadwell is a player in his prime as he signs on with Dan McFarland’s men until the summer of 2026.

Irish-qualified through his Longford-born mother Liz, the 26-year-old second row was the only player in Andy Farrell’s summer tour squad to feature in all five games in New Zealand.

This followed Treadwell announcing his return to the green jersey after a four-year absence, with his first international try against Italy during last season’s Guinness Six Nations.

Standing at nearly two metres tall, he has credited his recent success to a change in mentality to enjoy his rugby, which is paying dividends when it comes to being in the side for the likes of Ulster’s first ever win over Clermont Auvergne at Stade Marcel Michelin.

Now into his seventh season with Ulster, Treadwell commented: “I’m really excited to have signed on again with Ulster. This group is full of talent, and we all have the same goal in mind. I can’t wait to see how far we can go as a squad.”

Head coach Dan McFarland added: “Kieran has worked very hard over the last few years to develop as a player. His explosive qualities have always been apparent, but he has added a significant set-piece element to his game that has been recognised in his deserved selections for the Ireland team.

“I look forward to him continuing to improve in the years ahead, and for that to pay dividends when it comes to what we’re aiming for as a squad.”
