IRFU ‘Give It A Try’ Clubs Confirmed For Summer 2019

Nearly 70 rugby clubs will participate in the IRFU ‘Give It A Try’ programme for girls aged 10 to 14 this summer.

Last year over 1,000 girls took part in the eight-week programme at 38 clubs around Ireland. Take a look at how Wicklow RFC enjoyed their ‘Give It A Try’ sessions in 2018:

The IRFU ‘Give It A Try’ programme is an ideal way to kick-start the participation of girls in your club or to boost existing playing numbers by attracting new young players to the game with a fun introduction to the sport.

The girls have an opportunity to learn how to play rugby and play matches against other ‘Give It A Try’ clubs.

The IRFU supports clubs in their promotion of the programme with coach workshops, which are underway, promotional material and online support through our digital channels.
