Job Vacancy: Data Scientist

The IRFU is seeking a Data Scientist who will be responsible for the analysis, interpretation, visualisation, and on-going management of all performance related data within the IRFU high performance unit.

With a notable focus on GPS analysis, the Data Scientist will be responsible for building analysis systems to inform injury risk reduction and support performance optimization.

ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Data Scientist for the IRFU is responsible for the analysis, interpretation, visualisation, and on-going management of all performance related data within the IRFU high performance unit.

With a notable focus on GPS analysis, the Data Scientist will be responsible for building analysis systems to inform injury risk reduction and support performance optimization. Based on the IRFU’s National Standards, data is continuously collected within each province and national set-up and stored centrally for analysis, interpretation and feedback.

Thus, the primary objective of the role is to evolve the feedback loop that connects data collection to informed decision making within each provincial team and between the provincial and national set-ups.

This position is being offered on an initial 2-year contract basis.
