Ireland Down Under: Jared Payne On His New Role As A Coach

Jared Payne has been spending time with the Ireland coaching staff this week as he prepares to take on his new role as Ulster defence coach from next season onwards.

Following his recent retirement from playing and the announcement that he would take up the new role, Jared Payne has been spending some time with Joe Schmidt and the Ireland coaching staff in Australia.

This is not the first time that Schmidt has included other coaches withing the touring party. Last year’s summer tour to the USA and Japan saw Girvan Dempsey, Ronan O’Gara and Felix Jones spend a week each with the Ireland squad.
