Irish Rugby TV: Joe Schmidt On Ireland’s Summer Tour

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt spoke to Irish Rugby TV about the challenges of a three-Test summer tour to Australia and the opportunity it presents to work closely with the squad.

Speaking about the upcoming three matches against the Wallabies, Joe Schmidt said: “We really haven’t looked too far ahead. It really is all about Brisbane, getting to Suncorp Stadium and trying to be as competitive as possible.”

On the subject of the tour itself, he spoke about the opportunity it gives players to build a sense of camaraderie and to work more closely together. “I think it gives the lads a chance to share more experiences away from the pitch and at the same time you get a little more time to work with them and hopefully we see more growth in the players,” he added.
