O’Halloran Free To Play After Citing Is Dismissed

Connacht full-back Tiernan O’Halloran appeared at a disciplinary hearing today via video conference where the citing complaint against him was dismissed.

An all-Scottish disciplinary panel of Rod McKenzie (chair), Bill Dunlop and Frank Hadden convened in Glasgow to consider a citing for allegedly making contact to the eye or eye area of Ospreys winger Jeff Hassler during last Friday’s GUINNESS PRO14 game in Swansea. Contrary to law 9.12, a player must not make contact with the eye or eye area.

After reviewing the video clips and reports, and hearing explanations from the player, the panel decided that the foul play for which he had been cited had not been established and the citing should therefore not be upheld. Tiernan O’Halloran is therefore free to return to playing.
