Bealham And O’Brien Among Connacht’s Returning Players

Ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO14 clash with the Ospreys at the Sportsground on Friday (kick-off 7.35pm), the province’s medical team have issued the following squad update.

A number of players have reintegrated into team training in Galway this week following short and long-term injuries, and they are likely to be available for selection this weekend, including Finlay Bealham (knee), James Cannon (shoulder), Andrew Browne (Achilles), Sean O’Brien (shoulder), Craig Ronaldson (hip), Steve Crosbie (knee) and Cormac Brennan (shoulder).
 
Meanwhile, Denis Buckley is continuing his rehabilitation from ankle surgery and will be out of action until later this month. JP Cooney is recovering from hamstring surgery and will be out of action until April, and hooker Pat O’Toole is continuing his rehabilitation for his hamstring injury and will return to action in mid-February.

Of the back row contingent, Jarrad Butler is recovering from his hand injury and will be out of action until mid-February, and Eoin McKeon is progressing well in his rehabilitation from a calf injury and will return to team training in the coming weeks. Jake Heenan, who will join Bristol in the summer, is continuing his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery and will be out of action until April.

In the backs division, centre Peter Robb is continuing his rehabilitation from his recent hamstring injury and will return to training in the coming weeks, while winger Niyi Adeolokun, who suffered a hamstring injury last time out against Oyonnax, is progressing well with his rehab and will return to training later this month.
