IRFU Acknowledge Contribution Of David McHugh

The IRFU would like to acknowledge the contribution that David McHugh has made to Irish and world refereeing.

David McHugh refereed twenty nine tier 1 Test matches, including officiating at three World Cups (1995, 1999 and 2003). He also took charge of two European Cup finals in 1996 and 2001, as well as numerous other top flight games.

Since taking over from Owen Doyle as Referee Performance Manager in August 2015, he has continued to work tirelessly to keep Irish refereeing at the very top of the International and professional club game.

We wish David the very best in his future career and thank him for all he has done over the years for Irish refereeing.
