Squad Update As Ireland v Fiji Now Sold Out

The Ireland management have issued a squad update ahead of the now sold-out Ireland v Fiji GUINNESS Series match next Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm).

Following last Saturday’s physical GUINNESS Series encounter against South Africa at the Aviva Stadium, there are a few players who will either be managed or require further medical investigation.

Peter O’Mahony received a number of stitches to his ear, while fellow forward John Ryan presented with a calf injury following Ireland’s 38-3 victory. He will rehab in Munster this week.

The remainder of the matchday 23 from Saturday emerged with the usual bumps and bruises but are expected to be fit to train this week. Keith Earls has returned to Munster where he will rehab his hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Jordi Murphy, who played for the Barbarians against Tonga last Friday, and Sean Reidy have joined the Ireland squad following injuries to Tommy O’Donnell and Dan Leavy, which ruled them out of selection this week.

Ireland’s next game in the series against Fiji at the Aviva Stadium next Saturday is now also a 51,000 sell-out. We spoke to Ireland team manager Paul Dean at the squad base in Carton House earlier today:
