Joy Neville Receives First PRO14 Appointment Following WRWC 2017 Final

Joy Neville will make her GUINNESS PRO14 debut as an assistant referee on Saturday night as Connacht take on South African franchise, the Southern Kings, at the Sportsground (kick-off 7.35pm).

It will be Joy Neville’s first outing since refereeing the Women’s Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and England at Kingspan Stadium last month. The Limerick woman, who has been an assistant referee on a few occasions before in the PRO12, will assist Scottish duo Mike Adamson (referee) and Keith Allen (AR1) in Galway this weekend.

Andrew Brace will take charge of the clash between Leinster and Cardiff Blues at the RDS on Friday night, with Frank Murphy and Eddie Hogan O’Connell filling the AR roles for the round 2 fixture.

John Lacey will be AR to New Zealand’s Glen Jackson for the Rugby Championship contest between Australia and South Africa at the Nib Stadium in Perth on Saturday morning (Irish time). David Wilkinson takes control of the PRO14 fixture between Zebre and the Scarlets at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi – George Clancy will act as AR for the game in Parma – and Mark Patton is on AR duty for the Munster v Cheetahs match at Thomond Park.

Meanwhile, there are a number of age-grade interprovincial fixtures taking place over the weekend with Robert O’Sullivan refereeing the Leinster Under-19 v Ulster Under-19 game at Donnybrook, and Jason Cairns is the man in the middle for the Ulster U-18 Clubs v Leinster U-18 Clubs at Armagh RFC. Chris Lough is on duty at Cork IT for Munster U-18 Clubs v Connacht U-18 Clubs.
